Some of the most successful speck hunts I have ever experienced have been hunting over a small spread of realistic speck decoys ( Dave Smith & Hardcore) about 12 to 24.

Give specks a chance to work don’t get too anxious and shoot too soon. They will finish when you do it right they just seem to take a few extra passes.

To really get specks to respond to your call push your first note till it squeals a bit. Many times this will get them to hook hard and fast.
