Use high pitched calls and small, ultra-realistic full body decoys when hunting cacklers. - Brad Cochran |
True cacklers have a relatively small distribution range and a very unique sound. Choose a call that is made by someone who hunts cacklers to ensure that you get an accurate sound out of your call. - Brad Cochran |
Cacklers are notorious for playing “follow the leader.” When calling to flocks of cacklers look for birds that are interested in your spread- birds dipping their feet, fanning their tails or slowing their wing beat are all good indicators. Pick one of these birds only and focus your calling efforts on him. Your goal is to get him to commit to your decoys. More often than not he will bring followers. - Brad Cochran |
