Dale Dyer Nevada, USA

My name is Dale Dyer; I live in Winnemucca, Nevada. I am a Deputy for the Humboldt County Sheriffs Office. I was introduced to Waterfowl hunting when I was 11 years old, and have been hooked ever since. I grew up hunting Walker Lake and the Still Water Wildlife Refuge with my good friend Mike Reed. We spent every free minute we had on the water. Before I could drive I would wake my Dad up at about 5:00 in the morning, he would take my dog Chance and I out to the lake and drop us off for the day. I was lucky to have a Dad like that "thanks Dad".
Here in Nevada we don't get the big numbers of birds like they do in some other places so naturally they get a lot of pressure. Being able to have the right gear and sounding like a goose is key and Saunders calls does the trick. I have been able to use his calls from Nevada to Alberta and even a few places in between, they have never let me down. My two favorite calls are the I-5 killer, and the GP. They really sound great and bring 'em in close. For me hunting is not just an obsession but also a life style. Being able to be a part of Saunders calls is really a privilege. In ending I would like to thank our troops for protecting our freedoms with their lives. Also, don't let the opportunity to get youth involved in the outdoors pass you by. |
